The balance point is right at the logo. You can move it back a bit and make the knife even livelier by grinding a false edge into the clip. It does not change it much but you would be surprised by what a very small change can make to the feel of a knife. I might even fill the lanyard hole with lead like you do with a poured rivet in order to shirt the balance.
I think the DFLE could definitly be competitive. It has the right grind ,steel ,heat treatment and balance and qualifies under the rules. All it really needs is a first rate handler.
